Have Hope! Part 2
Andy patiently planned and executed an audacious escape; he had hope, he had a vision of where he wanted to be; he embraced change to achieve his desire; he survived. Red was released on parole; he too was not prepared for change outside prison life and would have gone down the same route as Brooks; but Andy had renewed hope in him, Andy gave him a new sense of longing to desire a better positive change in life; Red choose to have hope and follow a friend's advice; he survived. Red's parting statement in the film was,"I find I'm so excited that I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel. A free man at a start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope."

Hope is a good thing. To embrace change to succeed, it is essential you cultivate hope that you will experience a turnaround in your current situation; that you will come out of your virtual prison and experience freedom, achievement, fulfillment, harmony and prosperity. Don't become institutionalized by your prison experience.

Back up your hope with positive action, exploring all available options. Renew hope in others to support their desire for a positive change. If you can't renew hope in others, don't take away their hope for a positive change. Don't frustrate others so that they can remain at your level, rather seek to discover a hope for a positive change. Be the change you want to experience in your family, community and nation - cultivate and renew hope.
